What will you learn?

In this Big Data course, you will enter the world of programming, you will learn about its ecosystem and how to use it to solve problems, you will learn how to visualise data in a correct way to get a clear interpretation of them, and you will learn and put into practice the different techniques for data exploitation and you will prepare projects oriented to Big Data including fundamental elements… For all this, you will use Databricks and you will work with Python, Spark, SQL, Hadoop… We will also teach you some Machine Learning algorithms.

IBM Data Science Certification

We prepare you to achieve IBM Data Science certification. Data science is the practice of extracting knowledge from massive amounts of data, using methods such as statistics, machine learning, data mining and predictive analytics. This discipline is revolutionising the way organisations solve problems and gain competitive advantage.

In addition, you will have access to the IBM Skills Academy where you can take a data science major course (75 hours with lectures, labs and case studies).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have previous knowledge of Big Data to start the course?

Not at all! You can learn Big Data from scratch. However, in order to successfully complete the course and not be overwhelmed by the subject matter, you will need to have some basic programming skills. That’s why to start with the course we recommend, if you have not touched programming before, to first take the introductory module (object programming).

Can Big Data knowledge be implemented in the real world?

Not only can it be done, it can be done. Some examples of uses of Big Data in everyday life are related to customer segmentation and understanding, optimisation of business processes, quantification of staff performance… Big Data is also used in the health sector or to improve sports performance. In science and research, data analysis is also fundamental for progress. And these are just a few examples…

Does the Big Data course have practice hours with practical examples?

Yes, the Big Data course includes between 60 and 300 hours of practical work experience in companies, where you can put what you have learned into practice! But also, during your training, we will exemplify the theory with practical tasks that will help you to assimilate concepts.
